830. Budweiser Double Dutch - Underground Collection

I very enjoyable offering. It's funny, that Budweiser is known for being so anti-craft beer, yet at their own location they admit to doing small batches of special brews that are only kegged and used for various events in St. Louis, as well as being made available in their Brew Pub. So, I tried one of the two offerings, and actually really enjoyed it. It's nothing amazing, but it's the best thing I have ever tried from this marco-brewery.

829. Blue Point Toasted Lager

Decent taste for a lager, but nothing exciting or special. I enjoyed drinking it, but don't need to ever have one again.

July 2016 Chicago Trip Recap

Caitlin and I made our way up to Chicago to meet up with my brother and head to Soldier Field for a Bayern Munich v AC Milan football match.  We had an amazing trip, going to Piece Brewery, Revolution BrewPub, Saved by the Max, and the match.

Added five new beers to the website in 24 hours, and came home with fourteen more new beers.  Including four breweries to add to the Bicycle Series.  Very happy. 🍻

828. Magic Hat Poppy Agave Ale

Very interesting beer. Nothing bad, just odd. The flavor seemed a little off, kind of fruity but dry at the same time.

827. Revolution El Hefe Loco

Really good hefeweizen. Good flavors and easy to drink, exactly what I expected from this beer and I wasn't disappointed.

826. Revolution Filibuster

A very big and full bodied wheat ale. A little more bitter than I would have preferred. I took my time drinking it slowly. Good and heavy flavors up front that finish dry in my mouth. Not a bad beer, and I'm happy I tried it - but not one of my favorites.

825. Piece A Special Place in Helles

This falls into the new category I find myself using a lot, "High Class Miller Lite". It's light, crispy, smooth, and refreshing - but just tastes like a better version of Miller Lite. Easy to drink a lot of these without any problems.

824. Piece Big Black Mariah

Pretty standard stout here, it's good and enjoyable, but nothing too exciting or original. Good offering at this location, if stouts are your taste.

823. Indiana City Big Biz

The website has been a little barren this past month.  That wasn't entirely on purpose, but Caitlin and I have been planning a vacation and knowing we will be out of town has caused us to be be going out a lot less this past month - to save money. So, this week will see lots of post from great Chicago Breweries as we go to a Bayern Munich match there, then head to St. Louis for a few days.  A Budweiser Tour, and hopefully finding three Missouri Beers for the Bicycle Series. Now, let's talk about Big Biz.  An imperial IPA from Indiana City.  It goes down smooth and easy, the hops aren't too bad up front and it has good flavors.  It finishes pretty dry, and that's the only thing I don't like.  It's one of the better IPAs I have ever had, and would gladly drink more.  Nice offering from my favorite Indiana Brewery.
